How does Trust Toucan protect my money?
Trust Toucan is NOT an Escrow service. Trust Toucan facilitates secure payment transactions through bank-level encryption and payment processing. Payments are securely processed and automatically sent to sellers once the digital Purchase Agreement is completed by both parties.
What happens if something goes wrong?
We fully document and timestamp each action throughout the transaction. If issues arise, we provide this detailed evidence and the transaction terms to users, enabling them to take matters to court with comprehensive documentation should they choose to do so.
Is Trust Toucan only for cars?
While we started with cars, Trust Toucan works for any peer-to-peer transaction - electronics, jewelry, collectibles, furniture, and more. If it's valuable and worth protecting, Trust Toucan can help.
Can I use Trust Toucan for a deposit or part payment?
Absolutely! You can use our system as a deposit system. For instance, if you want to put a deposit down so the seller knows you're keen, you can use our system. During the review period, if it's not what you wanted you don't have to take it. It shows intent from the buyer and the seller has confirmation you have the cash.
How much does it cost?
Trust Toucan uses transparent pricing and charges a 2.5% (minimum £25) fee per transaction. Fees can be paid by the buyer, seller, or split 50/50. See our pricing page for full details.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes, we prioritise your security with bank-level encryption and only share the minimum information needed to complete transactions. Your payment details are processed securely and never stored on our servers.
Why does the inspection period use working days?
Our 3-business-day inspection window matches UK banking and Stripe’s fund-clearing schedule. Payments can happen anytime, even on weekends but banks only process and verify funds on business days. This keeps every transaction fully secure for both buyer and seller.
